The 2013-2014 academic year marked a big transition period for the Carnegie Mellon Racing Team. This was the first year the team built an all electric vehicle and had to prepare for the new challenges to be faced. The team was successful in building it first electric FSAE vehicle, CMR 14e. CMR 14e proved to be a valuable learning experience as the team members were all pushed to solve new problems and had to adhere to new rules. CMR 14e did however prove to be worth all the endeavors as it was awarded theIEEE Engineering the Future Award at FSAE Hybrid which was a great achievement for our team. Building on the success of CMR 14e, the Carnegie Mellon Racing Team hopes be even more successful with its next vehicle, CMR 15e.
